CEquip in-store barcoding

Overview
The system automatically produces bar-coded labels whenever a new item of stock is registered, or if a recycled item of stock is returned that was previously unbar-coded.

The format of the labels will be determined by the service, but as the entire label is printed, the service can choose to have human readable product codes on the label as well as the barcode to ensure that it is an easy job to quickly identify equipment.

Automatic Barcode Production
As soon as the stock has been entered on the CEquip system, a unique barcode is auto generated and allocated to that stock item. Software running on a local PC will determine newly created items from a link into the CEquip database and will then print a new label automatically.

The label printing system can reprint labels in case of damaged labels or equipment with missing labels.

Two label printers will be utilised to ensure that new and recycled stock labels are kept separate, thus ensuring recording of the correct barcodes to the relevant stock.
